Summary Article: The Letters of Imam Al-Mahdi and the Debate over their Issuance

Mahdism has been the target of many questions, as the following: How could the ambassadors of Imam Al-Mahdi to abide to their designated position under the system of the Abbasids, while the authorities were after any clue that may lead them to the Imam. So, is it even possible for the ambassadors to carry out their missions, despite their well-known position in the society?
Other questions concern the letters of Imam Al-Mahdi: how can we be sure that they are written by the Imam himself? How can we believe the Ambassadors?
There are also other related questions which found their ways to the mind of the masses. In this study, I will try to propose some answers to these questions.
