Summary Article: Proving the Birth of Imam Al-Mahdi (P.B.U.H)

The greatness of the notion of Imamate resulted in diverse understandings in Is-lamic theology. The one who is away from the mercy of God, envy would blind him from understanding this notion. It has been a point of research and study among peo-ple, leading to various conclusions throughout history. History witnessed many cases in which people have turned from being bitter enemies to Ahlulbait into close com-panions and supporters. On the other hand, many companions of Ahlulbait, at the end of their life, lost their ways and denied the divine position of Imamate. The only un-changeable fact in this life is change itself, because nothing and nobody is immune to change.
The interesting fact is that once Man has safeguarded his belief in Islam, Satan moves on further to trap him in accepting the notion of Imamate. Therefore, the exist-ence of Imam Al-Mahdi (P.B.U.H) has been a case of heated debate throughout centu-ries: some believe in his birth and life, while others deny completely his existence.
Because of the critical position Mahdism occupies in Islam, I sought to investi-gate and display the most important evidences that prove the birth of the Imam. I have depended on narrations from different Islamic schools in this regard.
